Grandparents as Parents Support: for grandparents raising grandchildren. Call the Area Agency on Aging 1-800-994-9422 for more information. 

Grief and Loss Support Group: at the Granby Senior Center for those experiencing the loss of a loved one. The group is held the 2nd and 4th Wednesday of the month at 2:30 pm. Call 860.844.5352 for more information.

Low Vision Support Group: at the Farmington Senior Center. Call 860.675.2490 for more information. 

Grief Support Group: Christ Community Church of Collinsville at 7 South Street. Held on Wednesdays at 10:00 am and 7:00 pm. Call 860.693.6333 or email Rev. Wheeler at collcong@sbcglobal.net for more information. 

AA Meetings held on Wednesdays from 6:00 pm - 7:00 pm at the Collinsville Congregational Church, 7 South St, 06019. (Open Meeting).

Wednesdays from 7:00 am - 8:00 am at the Avon Congregational Church, 6 W Main St, Avon CT 06001. (For A.A members only). 

Bereavement Support Group: sponsored by Carmon Funeral Home. 2nd and 4th Tuesdays of the month from 10:30 am - 11:45 am. Located at 412 West Avon Road, Avon CT. Contact Laura Perednia, LCSW at 860.817.5848. No cost and preregistration is required. 

In-Person Dementia Support Group: Held the 4th Thursday of the month, from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm. Located at 100 Fisher Drive, Avon CT 06001. RSVP to 860-678-7500 or email Avon@arden-courts.com.  

Coalition for Elder Justice & The Attorney General's Office: The Attorney General's Office, in cooperation with the Coalition for Elder Justice in Connecticut, has launched the Elder Justice Hotline, 1-860-808-5555, a new resource to help older adults in Connecticut seek information, assistance, and justice. Have you been a victim of a fraud? Received a message demanding immediate payment and aren't sure if it's legitimate? Have you or your loved one been the victim of abuse or neglect? Do you need help accessing benefits or assistance? If so, contact the Elder Justice Hotline at 1-860-808-5555 and our staff can connect you to agencies who are available to help.

The hotline will be staffed by the Attorney General's Office Monday through Friday from 8am to 5pm. If you are calling after hours, please leave a message and your call will be returned as soon as possible.
