WELCOME TO CANTON SENIOR AND SOCIAL SERVICES DEPARTMENT
The Town of Canton Senior and Social Services Department offers services, programs and
resources to Canton residents to help them achieve self-sufficiency, maintain economic
well-being, and adjust to different circumstances and events in their lives. The department
is responsible for the administration of social services and provides current information on
local, regional and statewide resources while coordinating increasingly diverse programs to
serve residents with varying backgrounds and needs.
Our mission is to make a positive impact on the health and well-being of our Canton residents of all ages by providing assistance with social, emotional and economic needs.
Our vision is for residents to gain maximum independence through active community engagement and outreach. We maintain an open and welcoming in-office atmosphere in order to reach and work with residents who find themselves in need.
If you have any essential needs that are not being met, please call our office at 860-693-5811 and we will do our best to assist you.
We encourage you to follow all guidelines to keep yourselves and your community healthy: wash your hands frequently and thoroughly; stay home when you are sick except to get medical care; clean and disinfect frequently-touched surfaces and objects; maintain a 3-6 foot distance from other people when out in public; and keep informed of current federal, state, and local guidelines from the CDC (cdc.gov), the Connecticut Department of Public Health (ct.gov/coronavirus), and the Farmington Valley Health District (www.fvhd.org).
