Canton Food Bank:
The Canton Food Bank is available to help supplement family food needs regardless of income. The Food Bank is located at the Trinity Episcopal Church on River Road in Collinsville, and is open on Mondays 6-7 PM and Tuesdays from 7:30 AM - 11:30 AM. To use the Food Bank, it is necessary to complete an intake application in the Senior and Social Services Office. Applicants must be a Canton resident.
Donations of non-perishable food items and money are welcome. Cash donations may be mailed to PO BOX 374, Collinsville, CT 06022-0374. Arrangements must be made for donating perishable items. For more information, contact Jennifer Herbek 860.324.0697.
SNAP:
The Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) formerly known as the Food Stamp Program, is a nutrition program that helps low-income individuals and families buy food. SNAP also provides education about nutrition to help recipients choose foods that enhance their health and well being. The income standards for SNAP are based the federal poverty levels (FPL.)

Mobile Foodshare:
Mobile Foodshare is available in Avon and Burlington and Canton residents are able to use either location. Mobile Food Share is an outdoor food distribution service for lower income individuals and families and provides fresh fruit and vegetables, bread, and occasionally other perishables depending on availability. Schedule of FoodShare distribution dates change occasionally and updated information is available at the Senior Center. Click here for the 2023 schedule. Meals on Wheels:
Two meals a days can be delivered to homebound seniors or people recovering from illness or surgery. McLean's prepares and manages the volunteers who deliver the meals. Call 860.658.3980 to learn more.
