EARLY VOTING INFORMATION

The Canton Registrars of Voters, Jack Miner and Cynthia Zdanzukas, and Canton Town Clerk, Tracy Morrocco, have planned for Early Voting in Canton. Early Voting begins in Connecticut this year, and the next election in Canton to qualify for Early Voting is the Primary Election. The Primary Election will take place on August 13, 2024. Early voting for the Primary Election will be held for seven days, August 5th through August 11th. The early voting polling place will be the Canton Community Center (Room C). The early voting polling place will be open for voting each of the early voting days (8/5/24, 8/7/24, 8/9/24, 8/10/24 & 8/11/24) from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. & (8/6/24 & 8/8/24) from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.

To vote early, the voter will need to be a registered voter in Canton, affiliated with either of the two major parties holding primaries. Voting will be in person, at the polling place and voters must check-in (major party affiliation will be confirmed) and present identification. Once checked in, the voter will receive the appropriate party ballot and ballot envelope. After marking their ballot, the voter will put the ballot into the ballot envelope and sign the outside of the envelope, affirming they are eligible to vote in Canton, are affiliated with one of the two major parties and that they have not voted in the primary at any other time or place.

The voter will then insert their signed and sealed envelope in the ballot box (provided). Each day’s signed ballot envelopes will be securely stored in the Town Hall vault. On Primary Election Day (August 13, 2024), the early voting ballots will be opened and counted at the polling place. In person, “day of” Primary Election voting will be on August 13, 2024 at the Canton Community Center (Parks and Rec room) from 6:00AM - 8:00PM.
