Boat Launch Update ~ DOG PARK NAMING ~ Winter/Spring Park & Rec Guide
_________________________ Board of Selectmen Highlights ~ First Selectman's Message
3/29/2016 - 03/29/2016 The First Selectman's Corner 03/29/2016 Dear Canton Residents, The Canton Board of Selectmen is considering a revised design for the town seal plus several logos that will be used to market the town. The designs were recommended by the Canton Economic Development Agency (EDA) following an extensive process that included a series of meetings with Canton citizens during the summer of 2015, the engagement of a respected town planning and marketing firm, and several rounds of design and feedback. The seal you see here is the result of that effort. The revised seal design updates the current town seal, and calls attention to the natural elements that are common to all areas of Canton: the river, the forests, the metal used to forge 16 million sharp-edged tools, and the Charter Oak whose descendent grows near the Collinsville Post Office. If adopted, the new seal will slowly be integrated into the community, as item bearing the current seal need to be renovated or replaced. The Board of Selectmen are looking for a final round of public input prior to their meeting on April 13 when a vote is scheduled to adopt the revised town seal. Please email your comments to me at lhill@townofcantonct.org prior to April 13th. Best Regards, Leslee B. Hill Archives
