Town of Canton Budget Referendum
May 9, 2022

Pursuant to Article X of the Canton Town Charter, a Town Budget Referendum will be held on Monday, May 9, 2022 from 6am-8pm at the Canton Community Center, 40 Dyer Ave, for all electors and those qualified to vote in Town Meetings in the Town of Canton.

The Electors of the Town of Canton and any citizen of the United States of the age of eighteen years or more who, jointly or severally, is liable to the Town of Canton for taxes assessed against them on an assessment of not less than $1,000 on the last completed grand list of the Town is hereby warned to meet at 40 Dyer Avenue, Canton, CT on Monday, May 9, 2022 to cast their vote on the following question:

"SHALL THE BOARD OF FINANCE'S RECOMMENDED BUDGET FOR FISCAL YEAR 2022/2023 IN THE AMOUNT OF $43,680,915 BE APPROVED?"

Voting machines will be used. The polls will be opened at 6am and will remain open until 8pm.

A summary of the recommended annual budget is available for public inspection at the office of the Town Clerk, the Canton Public Library, and at www.townofcantonct.org .

Canton's Registrar of Voters will conduct ballot testing for the May 9th Budget Referendum on Tuesday, May 3rd at 10am in the Town Hall, Registrar of Voters Office, 4 Market Street, Collinsville, CT.  The public is invited to observe.
