2/5/2025 - A Message from the Canton Board of Education Chair

Dear Canton Community,

The Canton Board of Education invites you to attend our regular meeting on Tuesday, February 11, 2025 at 6:30 PM in the Canton Middle School Cafeteria (second floor). The community is welcome to attend in person or virtually using the connection details provided below.

This meeting is particularly important, as Dr. Jordan Grossman, Superintendent of Schools, will present the FY2025-2026 Administrator’s Proposed Budget. Transparency is a key priority for the Board and with the unfortunate loss of the Farmington Valley Press, our ability to keep the community informed has been challenging. We are committed to ensuring that you have access to the latest information on the budget process.
The Board of Education’s mission is to provide an exceptional education for all students, and we believe educating the public about our budget is equally essential. Understanding the budget is crucial to informed decision-making and to ensuring it passes at the town referendum. Tuesday’s meeting marks the beginning of a series of opportunities for the public to engage, ask questions, and offer feedback. The Canton Public School’s Website is also another valuable resource.  There you will find documents that have been provided and discussed at meetings since the fall, including valuable Question & Answer Inquiries.  These may be found directly at https://cantonschools.org/p/budget

The budget process begins in October and culminates with the town wide referendum on May 8, 2025. Public participation and feedback are vital at every stage. We encourage you to attend one or more of these meetings and, most importantly, make your voice heard by voting on May 8th at the Canton Community Center.
