Greetings-

The budget presented to voters on May 14th at referendum failed passage.  As a result, the Board of Finance reviewed their FY 2026-2027 budget and made the following adjustments.

Reductions: Board of Finance $430,000, Board of Selectman (includes CIP) $500,000, and Board of Education $375,000.

These cuts represent a new Town of Canton Annual Budget for FY 2026-2027 to be $53,784,729.

A second referendum has been scheduled for Tuesday, June 2, 2026 from 6am to 8pm at the Canton Community Center, 40 Dyer Ave. Canton CT.
