It is with much gratitude and respect that the Fiscal Year 2024-2025 Annual Report be dedicated to Michael A. Langer for his tireless efforts on behalf of the Canton Emergency Fuel Bank. The Fuel Bank established in 1979 has provided Canton residents with thousands of dollars in aid for heating energy needs.
 
Michael is a lifelong resident of Canton who began his career with the Collinsville Savings Society in 1968. In his capacity with the Savings Society which later became the Northwest Bank he rose to the position of Chief Fiscal Officer.

In 1995 while at the Savings Society Michael become the principal agent for the Canton Fuel Bank. Since his retirement in 2014 he has continued to volunteer for the Fuel Bank preforming as the principal agent for the Board of Directors. The Fuel Bank seeks funds from charitable organizations and businesses. In addition, residents can annually expect a letter from the Fuel Bank asking residents to send their donations to Michael. He manages the acceptance of funds and interacts with the Canton government to distribute monies to citizens in need. He also manages all the Bank filings of documentation to the state and federal agencies.

His over thirty years of volunteering for the Fuel Bank embodies the best of Canton citizens who silently make our town great.
