Over the weekend, Governor Lamont issued several executive orders aimed at limiting in-person contact throughout the state. Consistent with the Governors directives, the Town of Canton has taken steps to cancel all Board and Commission meetings until further notice.
This does not cancel the obligation of town government to conduct our business in public. While in-person budget meetings are cancelled, members of the public are invited to submit budget questions regarding the budget directly to Robert Skinner, Chief Administrative Officer (email@example.com), for matters involving the Board of Finance and Selectmen, and to Kevin Case, Superintendent of Schools (firstname.lastname@example.org), for matters involving the Board of Education. This process will enable the town to keep a record of the questions and responses from board members and staff to be shared with all members of the public. The proposed Town Budget can be located at the Town website www.townofcantonct.org.
We know this period will be unlike other years in Canton. We will no doubt learn more as we work through the logistics of conducting town meetings that conform to the Governor’s newly stated guidelines for in-person contact. We will do everything we can to keep you informed along the way. Thank you in advance for your patience, comments and suggestions. Together, we will get through this most unusual time in Canton and beyond.
