Public Services Manager

The Canton Public Library, a municipal department of the Town of Canton, is seeking a Public Services Manager.  This recently-renamed position is responsible for the coordination of circulation functions and overseeing user experience within the library.

Duties of the position include but are not limited to: training and supervising circulation staff and pages; regular shifts at Circulation and/or Reference desks; resolving patron problems related to circulation; collecting and maintaining records and statistics; participating in planning programming for adults.

The successful candidate will have: excellent customer service and interpersonal skills; extensive customer service experience; ability to communicate clearly and effectively; proficient computer skills and the ability to quickly learn and adapt to new technology; and excellent time-management skills. 

Qualified applicants must possess a bachelor’s degree and at least three years of working experience in a public or academic library setting.  Experience with III’s Sierra ILS is a plus.

The position is full-time, 35 hours per week and will include at least one evening per week and Saturdays in rotation.   The annual salary range is $55,000-$61,000 depending on experience, with a full municipal benefits package.
