This one room schoolhouse was built in 1832.  It took eight to ten cords of wood to keep it heated.  Because of the remoteness of the area, the schoolhouse became the locus of local social activities.  The East Hill Community Club had suppers and dances here and in 1923 they piped in water and installed a furnace.  In recent years the school has been the home of Collinsville Boy Scout Troop 77.
