This narrow street terraced into the side of Sweetheart Mountain illustrates the need to provide housing in close proximity to the factory despite steep slopes. House styles reflect stages in the development of the street: cottages first, succeeded by Greek revival styles, and later dormitory buildings in response to the continued need for accommodations as the company grew in size. More recent buildings include a bungalow style house and twentieth century suburban style houses at the end of the street.
