On this site stood a large, three story wood frame commercial building known as “The Beehive” because it hummed with business activity. It was a hodgepodge of stores and included dry goods merchants, groceries, dental offices, and tailor and barber shops. The case went to the Connecticut Supreme Court and Collins lost.
