2/13/2013 - *Sidewalks need to be cleared of snow and ice

The Town of Canton recognizes that this has been a tough week weather-wise. As we all try to get back into a normal routine, safety continues to be a top priority. With this in mind, please remember to clear your sidewalks of snow and ice, especially if you live near one of our schools. Ordinance 375-2 states that it is the duty of owners, tenants and occupants of land or buildings adjoining an artificial sidewalk to remove all snow and ice as soon as possible and not later than 24 hours after the fall of such snow or the formation of such ice. It is a fineable offense for failure to comply with this ordinance.

Your cooperation is not only appreciated, but is also necessary for the safety of our children and all other pedestrians.

Thank you,
