10/20/2012 - *Candidate's Debate Night Sponsored by LOWV 10/16

Don’t Miss YOUR CHANCE to Interview Candidates Wishing to Represent You! Oct. 16 is Candidate's Night at Canton High School.

What would you like to ask the people who hope to represent you in state offices? Gather your questions and bring them to Candidates’ Night, 7 p.m. Tues. Oct. 16 at the Canton High School Auditorium, 79 Simonds Ave.

Members of the audience will be able to submit questions that night that they would like to ask candidates. The League also encourages people to submit questions ahead of time to LWVCanton@gmail.com.

The League of Women Voters is hosting this annual opportunity for voters to become more informed about candidates in this November’s election.

A moderator will pose selected questions to candidates. The League has invited candidates for the 8th state Senate District and 17th state House of Representatives District.

For those unable to attend, the event will be recorded and broadcast on Nutmeg TV (Comcast Channel 5) at 7 p.m. Oct. 26 and Oct. 30.

The League of Women Voters, unaffiliated with any political party, encourages informed and active participation in government, works to increase understanding of major public policy issues, and influences public policy through education and advocacy.

The League welcomes new members. Men and women of all political parties or unaffiliated are invited. See http://canton.lwvconnecticut.org/index.html.
