Earth Day is an event observed annually on April 22. It is a day held to demonstrate and promote environmental 
awareness and calls for the protection of our planet. Today, Earth Day is celebrated in more than 193 countries each year.
To celebrate Earth Day here in Canton, the Department of Public Works and the Parks & Recreation Department are 
planting a Jefferson American Elm Tree on the Canton Town Green next to the Bandstand. The tree planting ceremony will take place on Friday, April 22, 2022 at 11:00 AM.
