Earth Day 2021 tree plantings!

A Green Mountain Sugar maple, which will grow 40’-60’ tall and have a spread of about 35’, was planted at the Library, across the street from Canton Intermediate School. We've now completed our plan to remove 5 Norway Maples (which are an invasive species) and replaced them with native trees. 

The second planting is a Magnolia tree which was planted by Michael Donoghue. This tree is in memory of Mike’s late wife, Nancy, who passed away recently and was a long time Library employee and Library board member. This Magnolia will grow to 20’-30’ tall and a spread of 25’ at maturity.
