December 2020

Gifts for Canton is a charitable program benefitting Canton residents in need of assistance.   Due to the ongoing impact of COVID-19, GIFTS for Canton and Canton Social Services are uniting this holiday season to help make spirits brighter.

Gifts for Canton is excited to invite you to participate in the following events:
Holiday Gift Card Drive
Collection November 18th – December 11th

Donated gift cards can be mailed to the Canton Senior and Social Services office, dropped off in person during open hours to the public, or left in the locked “drop-box” located outside on the wall of the Community Center entrance near the double glass doors.  Contact Jessica DeMeo, Director of Senior & Social Services at Jdemeo@townofcantonct.org or by calling the office at 860-693-5811.

Canton Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) 
Toy and Gift Collection
 December 12th at Ocean State Job Lot in Canton
9:00 am – 1:00 pm

In addition to the Holiday Gift Card Drive, CERT will be collecting toys, gifts and Food Bank items at Ocean State Job Lot on December 12th. Currently, the Food Bank is in need of:

Toilet Paper
Juices (100% juice)
Coffee
Knorr Sides (Pasta and Rice varieties)
Canned Hash
Canned Stews
Canned Chili
Peanut Butter
Jellies
Oatmeal
Dry Milk
Canned Soups
Canned Vegetables

Gift Cards for Shop Rite, Stop& Shop or Ocean State
***Currently, the food bank has plenty of: Tuna, Pasta, Mac & Cheese and Cereals.
