3/31/2020 - Weekend Food Assistance to Canton Students in Need

The Town of Canton Senior & Social Services has coordinated with Gifts of Love in Avon to temporarily offer “The Weekend Food Backpack Program” to Canton Students that receive free or reduced cost lunch.  It will include easy-to-prepare meals & drinks for the family for the weekend and snacks for the student/s for the week.  Members of the Canton Youth Services Bureau have volunteered to assist with pick-up & distribution from a safe-social distance. The pick-up location will be in the front of CIS (Canton Intermediate School) parking lot on Friday mornings at 9:00 am.  The first pick-up will take place Friday, April 10, 2020.

If you would like to register for this service (as there are required forms) please send an E-mail to Jessica DeMeo, the Director of Senior & Social Services and include your first and last name & how many children in your family in need of this food program.

* If your children do not receive free/reduced lunch but your family would still  benefit from this food assistance program during this difficult time, please express your request directly to: Jdemeo@townofcantonct.org and it will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.*

~The town of Canton is happy to help our families and we are very lucky to work so closely with generous community partners. Be well ~
