12/24/2019 - Highlights from the 12/23/19 Board of Selectmen Meeting

The Board reviewed and discussed the 2020-2023 Board of Selectmen goals.  The goals cover the areas of communication, economic development, senior and social services, environment, fiscal responsibility, emergency services and recreation. The goals will be presented and discussed at the Annual Town Meeting on January 22, 2020.
The Board approved a donation in the amount of $3,000 from Collinsville Bank to the Canton Police Department for the purpose of funding in-car computer tablets.  The donation received by the Police Department as a result of the Department’s application to the Neighborhood Assistance Act which was approved by the State.  
The Board approved the transfer of $46,182 from the Contingency Line Item in the 2019/2020 Budget for the purpose of covering non-union wage increases for the 2019/2020 fiscal year.
The Board approved the Town’s Insurer CIRMA to settle the Alden Seamans, et al v. Town of Canton law suit as recommended by the Town’s special litigation counsel in that action. 
The Board recognized a letter sent from the DeVito Family on Dunne Avenue expressing appreciation for the response of the Canton Volunteer Fire/EMS Department to a recent fire at the DeVito’s property.
