Mil Rate

The Fiscal Year 2009-2010 mil rate is 25.64 mils. A mil is equivalent to 1/10 of a penny per dollar of assessed property value, therefore 25.64 mils would be expressed as 0.02564. To calculate property tax, multiply the assessed property value by .02564. For example, an average property assessed at $232,290 would be taxed as follows.

$232,290 x 0.02564 = $5955.92
