Tax Due Dates:
Real Estate and Personal Property: July 1st and January 1st you have up to and including August 1st and February 1st to pay without penalty (if your bill is under $100, it is paid in only one installment in July)
Motor Vehicle: July 1st you have up to and including August 1st to pay without a penalty
Motor Vehicle Supplement: January 1st you have up to and including February 1st to pay without penalty.
The Board of Finance set the mill rate on May 22, 2017 at 30.49. Bills were mailed on Friday, June 23rd, 2017.
The 2016 Sewer Use Bills were mailed on Thursday, September 29th. The last day to pay is November 1st. If you do not receive your bill by October 5th, please contact the Tax Office.

The 2017 - 2018 mill rate is 30.49 mills. The 2017 - 2018 budget for the Town of Canton estimates that $2,510,026 will be received from the State of Connecticut for various state financed programs. Without this assistance the 2017 - 2018 property tax mill rate would have been 32.44 mills.
The State of Connecticut General Statutes, Section 12-130 states: "failure to receive a bill does not invalidate the tax".
