Old Route 4 WalkwayDue to MDC testing the Nepaug River Dam, the old Route 4 Walkway from Torrington Avenue to Route 202 in Canton will be closed weekdays during the month of September. The walkway will be open on weekends. Please contact Phil Royer at MDC at (860) 379-0916 with any questions.

TransportationThe Town of Canton is served by U.S. Routes 44 and 202 as well as CT Routes 177, 179, and 309. Bradley International Airport is located in Windsor Locks, Connecticut, 13 miles northeast of Canton. Commuter bus service to Hartford is provided by CT Transit (860) 525-9181. A Park & Ride lot is located on Old River Road in Collinsville. Intercity bus service is provided by Peter Pan Trailways (800) 343-9999 and Bonanza Bus Lines (860) 677-5466 at Union Station in Hartford. Dial-A-Ride services are available to senior and disabled residents by calling (860) 693-6976 (reservations are required). Intercity rail service is provided by Amtrak (860) 727-1776 at Union Station in Hartford.
Directions to Canton and Collinsville
From points North: Take I-91 south to I-84 west. Proceed on I-84 west to Route 4 west (Exit 39). Follow Route 4 through Farmington. At the intersection of Route 4 and Route 177 in Unionville, turn right onto Route 177 and proceed north into Canton. To reach Collinsville, do not turn north on Route 177. Continue north on Route 4 to Route 179 in Burlington and follow Route 179 north into Collinsville. Town Hall is located on the corner of Route 179 and Main Street in Collinsville. Alternatively, from I-91 south, take Route 20 west (Exit 40, Bradley Airport Connector) to Route 219 west. Follow Route 219 to Route 179 and turn left. Take an immediate left to stay on Route 179 and proceed south into Canton. To reach Collinsville, cross Route 44 by taking a left turn followed by an immediate right turn and continue south on Route 179 into Collinsville. Town Hall is located on the corner of Route 179 and Main Street in Collinsville. |

To reach Collinsville, continue north on Route 4 to Route 179 in Burlington instead of turning north on Route 177. Follow Route 179 north into Collinsville.
