5/28/2018 - Memorial Day Holiday Hours and Parade Info-UPDATE!

THE PARADE IS ON!  SEE YOU ALL ON THE PARADE ROUTE!

All groups should plan to gather at the Canton Intermediate School at 9:30 a.m. The parade begins at 10:00 a.m. heading south on Dyer Ave; taking a right onto Maple Ave; taking a left onto Main Street; taking a right onto Center Street and proceeding to the Village Cemetery where a memorial service will be held. 

We will be led by our parade Grand Marshall Margaret Sangster, and will hear speeches by several Canton students, as well as the keynote speech by Canton’s Poet Laureate, Joan Hoffman. The high school marching band will perform.

Veterans are welcome to join First Selectman Leslee Hill for coffee and donuts at the Community Center at 8:45 am. 

Hope you are able to join us as we honor all fallen soldiers & Veterans who sacrificed for our freedom.

Also...In light of the upcoming Memorial Day holiday weekend, Canton Town offices and the Canton Public Library will be closed on Monday, May 28th.
The Transfer Station will be open this week and next with a regular schedule of Tuesday & Saturday 7am-3pm & Thursday 11am-7pm.
