6/16/2018 - The Canton Land Conservation Trust’s May 19 Hike rescheduled to June 16th

The Canton Land Conservation Trust’s May 19 Hike rescheduled to June 16th

Due to the forecasted rainy weather, “The Many Faces of Cherry Brook” hike will be postponed from May 19th to June 16th:

Visit an old sawmill site, an agricultural floodplain area, and the remnants of an old grist mill dam in Canton Center, on Sat. June 16 at 9:30 a.m.

Local historian Anne C. Hall, Ph.D. will lead this approximately 1-hour walk, visiting three locations on Cherry Brook showing the different historic uses and environments of the stream. The sites are part of a larger study of the historic usage of streams and watercourses being undertaken by the Land Trust.

Directions: rendezvous at the commuter parking lot on the northwest corner of Rts. 44 and 179. Plan to arrive at 9:15 for a 9:30 a.m. departure by carpool.

Wear sturdy walking shoes, and please leave dogs at home. In case of questionable weather, check www.cantonlandtrust.org for possible postponement.
