4/22/2018 - Celebrate Earth Day, April 22, with a Canton Land Trust Hike

Celebrate Earth Day, April 22, with a Canton Land Trust Hike

Where better to spend Earth Day than in the woods?! The Canton Land Conservation Trust welcomes all to a guided hike of its Goedecke Preserve on Sun. April 22, starting at 1:30 p.m.

Land Trust Directors Jennifer Mason and Michelle Winkler will lead this approximately 45-minute hike along a moderate-difficulty trail (be prepared for a few steep pitches) ending at a brook where hikers can enjoy provided snacks.

Wear sturdy walking shoes, and please leave dogs at home. In case of bad weather, check www.cantonlandtrust.org for possible postponement.

Directions: The Goedecke Trail is just past the driveway of 15 West Road, Canton, and is marked by a Canton Land Conservation Trust sign.  Please park along the right-hand side of the road as West Road is narrow. Directions are also available here.

The Canton Land Conservation Trust is a non-profit conservation organization formed in 1972 to acquire, preserve and protect land of scenic, natural or historic value within the Town of Canton; to maintain this land and its plant and animal life using the best conservation, wildlife habitat and forestry practices available; and to promote public awareness, understanding and enjoyment of the land. The Land Trust is the steward of approximately 2,000 acres of natural land.
